Island kayak clean-up
led by Bob Ferri. Bring your kayak to the Goat Island access in Newcastle at 9:30 am. Trash bags will be provided and the event should last about three hours. Contact Bob at Robert.Ferri@efi.com

ASMFC public hearing 7pm
On Draft Addendum II to Amendment 6 to the Interstate Fishery Management Plan for Striped Bass, NHF&G, Urban Forestry Center, 45 Elwyn Rd., Portsmouth, NH. Contact Doug Grout, Chief of Marine Fisheries at 603 868 1095. The public is invited to offer comment on a proposal to increase the coastal commercial quota. The Great Bay Stewards Event
The Roundabout Diner at the Portsmouth traffic circle is hosting the Great Bay Stewards all day from 5:30am until 10pm. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Stewards who are a volunteer group dedicated to preserving and protecting Great Bay. Depending on the success of this event, the owner may host CCA NH and Great Bay Trout Unlimited in subsequent months. Coastal clean-up
Join us at 9:00 am at the Wallis Sands State Park parking lot. Bags, gloves, etc. will be supplied. Should last 2 to 3 hours. We will patrol the coast from Wallis north to Odiorne.

NH Fish and Lobster Festival at Prescott Park in Portsmouth ("Fishtival")
CCA NH will have an outreach booth at this second annual event that attracted 4000 folks last year. The festival aims to connect our community to the local fishing fleet and related businesses and non-profits, highlighting their importance to our local economy, food system, community, and sense of place.

Friday, October 1, 2010: Public Comment deadline

5pm EST is the deadline for submitting public comment regarding the proposal to increase the coastal commercial quota for striped bass. Visit the ASMFC website to submit your comments. (see also the public hearing scheduled for September 13th)
